Most enquiries go to whoever replies first. Not the cheapest, not the best reviewed, the first. A form that sits until the evening has usually been answered by somebody else by the afternoon.
The first reply is written in your voice and says what you would say: that you have seen it, what you need to know, and when they will hear from you properly. It does not quote, and it does not promise a time you have not agreed to. You change the wording whenever you like.
What it will not do is pretend to be you for longer than one message. Once the customer has replied, the thread is yours, and the follow-up sequence only starts if you go quiet. See quote follow-up.
