Reviews are the single biggest thing that moves a local business up in local search, and the only reliable way to get them is to ask every time.
One thing we will not do, and it is worth being straight about it: we do not filter unhappy customers away from Google. Some tools quietly route anything below five stars into a private feedback form so it never reaches your public profile. That is against Google’s policy, and a profile of nothing but perfect scores reads as bought anyway. The request goes to everybody.
What happens after a review lands has its own page, and unhappy customers get a private word first: see the review filter.
